She shivers, instinctively stepping closer. At least she doesn't look at all like she doesn't believe him or thinks he sounds insane. If anything, it's all too believable.

"The town..." She bites her lip, half in thought, half in unease. "The town is doing all of it?"

She has no reason not to believe him. This is Jeff. Her friend, or at least someone who maybe could be a friend. She trusts him, even if he wouldn't do any magic for her. Her voice drops into a whisper.

"Is it trying to chase us out?"
