This was not the ill-fated end he had anticipated from Two Cowboys One Shaft. Doc's grip tightened on the ladder and he inadvertently brought some of it down on top of them. In the dark he gropes around some wood and some Marshal jeans until he finds some ground beneath his hands and knees.

"Raylan?" Doc reaches over to give him a little shake, the echo of his voice cutting through the commotion. "Are you okay?" He can't hear much beyond the sound of his own heartbeat thumping away but potentially knocking Raylan out is taking his attention away from the sheer panic of being stuck down here.
