There's a part of him that wants to be a stubborn ass and stay where he is, but that would be childish, right? Probably. So's the urge to knock that hat off his head to just be an asshole, push Doc a little bit further. Maybe if Doc says something else frustrating.

"I'm helping," he finally answers after a drawn out pause, pushing away from the cupboard, rolling his shoulders to try to ease some of the growing tension there.
