[ After discovering that practically every plate, bowl, and glass in the boarding house kitchen had been destroyed, Daisy's taken to wandering the more intact houses in this part of town. She makes cursory note of which houses have a better feel about them, which ones seem to be occupied by her fellow trapped souls, and which ones have other items that might be useful to them. Setting out in the afternoon with an empty backpack, she doesn't intend to return until it's full — with dishes, batteries, medicine, whatever she can find.
