CONSEQUENCES

When the unwilling residents of Mathias Township wake on the morning of the 24th day, they will find themselves in yet another set of frustratingly unnerving circumstances. None of them are where they last remember being, and some of them have strange marks on the palms of their left hands. It's all incredibly unsettling, but truthfully they should be used to it by now. No one will remember traveling to their new location.

Residents can wake up anywhere within their new location and in any position. Curled up in a bed, sprawled on a couch, huddled beneath a coffee table, propped against a wall... Wherever they are, they will themselves to be in quite an unusual state. While they are wearing whatever clothing items they went to sleep in, plus their shoes and a coat. The newest arrivals to Mathias Township will perhaps stand out for being slightly more appropriately dressed than their new neighbors. They are all a bit damp, physically worn out, and half-frozen from their apparent walk through a blizzard.

Each of the four locations is inescapable — residents are trapped, with exterior doors and windows being shut tight and a blizzard raging outside. The locations are stocked with fresh food and water and a large pile of firewood for the fireplaces in each building. The circumstances residents will face, however, may vary wildly between locations as the forces at work in Mathias respond to the recent actions of certain individuals.

These residents will wake with a mark on their left hand palms, a spiraling black symbol similar to those some may have seen around town. All marks are identical and cannot be removed, but will have seemingly vanished from their skin on the morning of the 26th day.

DAYS 026-027
IN THE AFTERMATH
After their ordeals of the past two days, the unfortunate residents of Mathias Township will be grateful to find that they were back where they are supposed to be, a chill still clinging to their clothes in whatever place they went to sleep the night of the 23rd day. New arrivals will wake in the living room of the boarding house. None of the residents will wake with anything in their possession from the locations in which they were previously trapped, including any notes or documentation they may have made during their time there.

CONDITIONS UPDATE
— SNOW continues to fall heavily on Days 024-025, resulting in white out conditions from the wind that blows in gusts of over 35 mph; the temperature also drops drastically, making conditions extremely dangerous for residents. The blizzard clears on Day 26 and residents are left with a cold, calm world covered in white.

— THE FOG remains blocking the paths in the forest, urging residents to stay huddled within the town proper, and it also now blocks the northern section of town, beginning just before where residents know the chasm in the earth to be. Venturing into the fog is... ill-advised.

— DISAPPEARANCES continue to plague the town. Kylo Ren and Thomas Richardson have vanished without a trace.

— NO NEW DEATHS have occurred in town, but there is a new "grave" in the small makeshift graveyard near the schoolhouse. Rey's corpse has been moved and covered with stones to wait for the ground to thaw enough for a proper burial.

— THE LANTERNS will be gone from the morning of Day 024. No trace of them remains.

[He's been in worse and in stranger situations.

Not in awhile though.

Eliot wakes up, his motorcycle jacket and hoodie half-soaked through and freezing as if he's just walked through the snow, the ankles of his jeans are freezing and the only thing he can think of is that he must have passed out somehow in a blizzard and someone dragged him here.

Wherever here is.

As soon as he manages to gather his wits and his senses about him, he immediately gets up, on edge, his blue eyes wide and wild.

Where is he? Where's Hardison? Where's Parker? This isn't Portland, this isn't anyplace he recognizes.

The first person he sees, he's going to storm towards them, shoulders squared, that same, wild look on his face. He's not playing around and he's gonna get answers. Are you one of his enemies!?]

You--tell me what I'm doin' here!? Did you do this? Who hired you!?

[ Neal's focus had been on one of the windows. He'd been staring out at the storm, not thinking about anything in particular, just waiting for the rumbling or the screaming to come back. He could swear he heard people talking in the next room, but when he went to look the occupants were still unconscious.

Except that one is very much not unconscious any more.

Neal backs off fast, putting his hands up. ]

Easy, buddy, we're all wondering what we're doing here.

I can't be sure of that. For all I know, you could be in on this whole thing!

[It's possible this guy was brought here along with him. But he's not going to deal with that until he's sure he's not a threat. Eliot takes a step forward, attempting to get up in his space.]

Who's we?

[He hasn't see or looked for anyone else yet, his eyes are wide and he's still fighting off disorienting confusion of simply being in a place you did not expect.]

[ When Eliot moves forward, Neal moves back, stumbling a little and catching himself with one hand on the back of a chair. He's still pale, still off-balance. Blood loss will do that to a guy. But he's doing his best to at least look solid on his own two feet. ]

We as in me and everyone else in this town. There are apparently more than twenty of us now. I've been here three days.

[All right, so...clearly not a physical threat. Eliot doesn't back off, but he doesn't approach aggressively anymore, either. He just sort of stands there.]

Wait--what? Hold on--

[The guy who seems to be suffering from some kind of ailment who is obviously not a kidnapper of any sort might actually be telling the truth here.]

Seriously? You...

[He looks around, like he's expecting someone to yell out gotcha from behind a door.]

You're saying there's twenty--or more--other people around here that just...what, what are you saying, showed up here? Like--I don't even remember how I got here!

Neither do I. Neither do any of the people I've asked about it.

[ Neal's smile is humorless. ]

Part of this place's ever-growing mystery. I don't know how I got here, either. [ He gestures to the building around them. ] Last thing I remember, I was asleep on a couch.

[He's seen a lot of weird things in his life, he's been a part of a lot of weird things--mostly amusing weird things, but nothing this baffling. He rubs his face, feeling like the floor was about to slip out from under him. Maybe this really was a dream? Or someone was trying to trick him...or them.]

That's...just...

[He throws a hand out, as if he was angry at reality for sucking so much.]

Great!

[It takes him a second to calm down. Okay, maybe more than a second. He paces, like a caged animal.]

They can't--they can't do this to us! [Whoever they are.] What about tryin' to escape, what's holdin' you here? An electric fence?

[ Neal makes a face. ]

This is going to sound stupid, but the fog. It's toxic. Surrounds the whole town.

You're right. It does sound stupid.

[Calming down, right. Calming down...]

Look, if there's a toxic fog, the government needs to be involved. What is it, some kind of gas? If it's radioactive then we're all screwed by being in proximity of it...

[Then he realizes what he's saying.]

Wait, surrounds the town and doesn't let you leave? That's ridiculous!

[ Neal pulls a chair out and sits. He's looking forward to recovering from the whole vampire-blood-sucking-experience to the point where standing up doesn't tire him out. ]

I didn't say it made sense. [ Yes, that's a little testy. ...And the next part is a little petty. ] Also, pretty much everyone here is from a different universe, aliens exist, and zombies are a thing.

Then pauses again like he's going to say something, then thinks better of it. Then gives it a second, before finally--]

I wish I was. [ That's half to himself. Neal rubs his face, then reaches out to grab the table as the building starts to shake around them.

...All right, he feels guilty now. At least when he woke up here, it was just... in the snow. Not in the middle of whatever this is. ] I'm Neal. Neal Caffrey. What's your name?

[It takes a long moment for Eliot to get over all that--and he's not over all that, not by a long shot--but that's a greeting and he probably oughta return it.]

Eliot Spencer.

[It's annoyed and sullen, but at least he's not walking away, so, progress? Then the building shakes and Eliot growls under his breath.]

I've had it up to here with that damn shakin'.

It's been going on since I woke up here. I don't think it's going to stop.

[ The words are bleaker than he means them to be--he's thinking about Daisy when he says them, thinking about the pain on her face every time things start to rattle around them. ] But I don't really fancy our chances in the snow.

It needs to stop.

[As if he could just will it to stop by his sheer and utter annoyance. But the way that Neal sounds is worrying.]

I mean, you're right--best thing to do would be to stay put in this weather, but it's gettin' real hard to relax in here.
