Dorian's eyes narrow slightly as Raylan avoids the "why" and jumps right into the "what" or "how" portion of his question. He sighs softly, half resolved to at least somewhat answer or advise, anything to save the man, who clearly doesn't know anything about magic, from potentially doing something really dumb. To what end? He's not sure, he doesn't even know if the other will listen to him, he doesn't know him well enough, but it's bad enough he's even asking.

"You should avoid doing Blood Magic, period." He states matter-of-factly and there's a pause to study the look in his eyes, or the bags just under them. Don't think he hasn't noticed the state of the Marshal at this moment.

"Especially in your condition. Have you even slept?" He frowns, brows knitted.

"Though the irony of all of this isn't lost on me. That you would come to me of all people to ask about Blood Magic." He sets the mostly empty bowl aside to scratch his head with his good hand.

"What are you attempting to do exactly? And before you try to dodge me again, yes, it matters."
