Doc knows a big black cavernous void of the nothingness that awaits in dark and lonesome places, perhaps after death assuming men like them would be spared from hellfire nipping at their heels and anything else that comes with the eternal damnation package.

"The fire could have taken us in our sleep, intentional that it was. Something else is at play here. Something I frankly care very little to speculate of at this point. There is nothing we can do about it. We caused that explosion at 1307 - we could have hurt someone. We could run out of food and water tomorrow. Those are things we can do something about."
