Despite the anxiety still running through her and the aftereffects of too much adrenaline leaving her wrung out and shaky, Daisy keeps reminding herself that they're okay and that's what matters. There aren't many people she's allowed herself to get close to in this fucked up creepy town but the one at the top of that list is still standing. When everything else seems hopeless, she has that to hold onto.
It would be pointless to ask if she's okay. The answer would be a resounding no disguised as a shrug and an emphatic I'm fine, which Bucky probably knows all too well from the Other Her, so better to just skip the question altogether.
If Daisy stops moving, if she takes a moment to rest, she knows she might not get back up again for a while. Exhaustion is clinging to her, trying to weigh her down as she works on wiping off the kitchen counters and checking the cupboards for anything still salvagable. It's like with the houses, some canned goods that are perfectly acceptable, so at least they won't go hungry tonight. Not that she has much of an appetite...
She almost jumps when he returns, tension and unease etched into her expression, but she forces a small smile and releases her deathgrip on the rag she'd been using to clean. "Thanks. I'll take half a star so long as it's not on fire."
