Raylan knew that this was hard for Malcolm - there was no world that he could see Malcolm hurting someone else intentionally, even with what Malcolm had confessed to him nights before. There was no way he'd murdered Endicott but Raylan had nothing to help prove it and opted to keep the peace and say next to nothing beyond insisting that it wasn't possible.
