Well. So much for that calming, midmorning stroll. It wasn't for lack of trying but they honestly cannot be holding hands 24/7 while trying to hold the fort down and keeping this house running on top of all the other things they had taken on. Doc isn't capable of that kind of multitasking - or that kind of coddling, for that matter.
"Go. I can manage Neal." The more they dallied the further Malcolm would get and the more likely he is to pose a danger to himself - and to others.
"He'll be okay," Doc manages to squeeze in before Raylan is gone. He doubts Raylan really needed to hear it. He says it anyway. It is what friends do. One less thing for him to worry about.
