He sets the mixing bowl down, studying its contents. “I’m helping Raylan plan a date for them. A real date.”

Even more quietly, almost shyly now, Neal says, “I have a new project. I’m turning one of the houses on King into a kind of… painted garden, for people to use. That’s the plan anyway. I’m going to try and get one of the rooms done so Raylan and Malcolm can have a kind of picnic. Raylan is helping with the basics.”
