Taking the can and dragging it over, Doc rinses off any fine specks of dust that might have gathered over the past couple of days before retrieving his filed down butter knife. Most people probably use a can opener but Doc stabs through the top of the can, sawing a big enough opening to pour the contents out onto the pot. It's a lot quicker and less fiddly.
He puts some leftover ground beef into the pot as well and gives it a few stirs before leaving it to heat up. It'll take a while, but unlikely to be longer than the biscuits.
