Doc doesn't elaborate as if everyone ought to know that you have to be able to eat anything if you're from Kentucky, although his tone might have implied some gentle Southern ribbing. He would have said the same about Georgia but they already know Doc would eat anything. They'd probably have to stop him from giving himself food poisoning at some point when the supplies inevitably run out again.
