[ Billy couldn't stay cooped up in the Gull. He'd made it a few hours, but the storm was lasting longer than he thought, and he wanted to try and find someplace that maybe had any sort of information for him. So, recklessly and stubbornly, he'd stepped out into the storm.

He wouldn't go as far as to say he regrets it, because Billy doesn't even like admitting to himself when he's wrong, but it seems like a stupid idea now that he's braced against the too-strong wind. Turns out he's not the only idiot, though, because he sees a woman, and before he knows it she's grabbing his hand and pulling him somewhere. Billy rips his hand away pretty quickly, but he waits until they're inside the safety of the house and the door's been pressed closed and locked against the storm before he says anything.

Not that I don't appreciate it, but I could've just followed you.

[ He knows he should be grateful. He might have found this home himself after knocking on doors, but she provided a quick and easy relief from the storm.

Billy also can't admit that he doesn't like being rescued, either.

He pushes a hand through his hair, dripping and hanging in his face, and turns to watch the rain assault the window as the glass rattles.

Jesus Christ.
