"After thirty years you could get used to anything. But it is okay for you to want more." Especially seeing as being wanted to be treated better is not something completely unreasonable. You can't always expect to get along with everyone but people should at least be willing to meet you halfway.

"You can always come here, if things get to be too much." Even if it is too much of a cold shoulder or too much quiet. There's rarely a dull moment here and while they go out plenty, they don't all just file back upstairs into their rooms like people might in the boarding house.

"Even if I'm not the kind of rambunctious company you might be after." There are always the New Yorkers.
