He huffs a sound from the back of his throat, a bitter sort of scoff that he couldn’t have stopped even if he wanted to. “It’s my luck, man. Always been that way.” Every time things almost seem to be working out in his favor, a wire gets tripped and activates the worst way possible for him to be denied whatever he was going for.
