As the combined efforts and weight of two cowboys renders him unable to struggle or escape, he screams. It’s a mournful howl of despair at the top of his lungs that ends in a choked sob as he gives one last fruitless push against them.

Then startles awake with a gasp, eyes darting around, body tensed until he realizes where he is. His heavy breaths get shaky. He’s trembling. He swallows hard.

“Did I hurt anyone?” he whispers fearfully.
