"What gave it away?" She teases gently, smirking up in his direction. "Not terribly observant, are you? Or-- is it dark up here?" She sounds genuinely curious on that last question. If it was, it would explain why he hadn't noticed the damage of her eyes.

She lifts the apple in her hand and takes a bite from it.
