"You have?" he asks, not touching either photo, even half looking at them, letting Doc do the inspecting. The last time he made the effort, he knew he shouldn't have. And, it may be why he was marked. It would be better to say that than to stand still. Frozen. But, that's what he does.

Finally, he looks when they're held out to him.
