Well, small towns usually had their cemetery outside a church. Find the church and perhaps we can find where some previous inhabitants might be buried. Add it to yet the ever growing list of odd things in this town. A general store and a town hall, but not a church? Most towns in the area that this could be in would have one church. A sort of community center in the early days.
