To his credit, Raylan didn't jerk or tear his arm away from her touch; it barely registered, but she was trying and that was worth something, even if he couldn't quite appreciate it for what it was in his current state. It was perfectly reasonable, had people decided to help him instead of stopping him at every turn.

"Ya know, I don't know what pisses me off more," he started. "It falling in the first place or the good rope and wood that went down with it." He clucked at the gap and turned around, hunching back into his coat.
