Given the state of the town? It either took a beating with everything else... or fell into decay cause no one was here anymore.

[ He hopes that no one was in the building when whatever happened went down. Children are a touchy subject for John. He's never been an innocent one, but, he protects others that have theirs. He'll send any right bastard to Hell if they so much as harm a child.
