"Nothing to apologize for," he waves a hand dismissively at the idea of it before he goes back to finishing off his left hand. "I haven't been alone in awhile, either, honestly." He huffs a soft scoff of a laugh.
"Well, time is a lie anyway. Maybe this creepy little town just figured that out ahead of the rest of the world." He tilts his head and frowns a little. "Do you think there is a rest of the world here? I can accept a pocket universe, or some weird alt-timeline, fine, but... I don't think I could really deal with the idea of only this town existing across the whole of everything for the rest of forever."
